Oxidised Headlight Restoration
Heavy-duty restoration process for headlights suffering from severe UV oxidation, characterized by a rough texture and flaking surface.
Tackling Severe Oxidation
Oxidation is the chemical breakdown of the headlight material. It often presents as a rough, chalky, or yellowish crust on the top edge of the headlight housing, eventually spreading across the entire lens.
This level of degradation requires more aggressive initial surface preparation to completely remove the dead, oxidised plastic before the refinement and polishing stages can begin.
Key Signs of Oxidation
- Rough texture to touch
- Flaking top layer
- Severe yellow/brown tint
